CASTING - Portuguese Actress aged 20-30 for Leading Role in Independent Feature Film

We are casting for Portuguese actress for one of the lead roles ("Sofia") in an independent feature film to be shot in Lisbon in Spring / Summer 2024. This call is open to both actresses and people with no acting experience.

Kiss And Be Friends, a comedic summer’s tale of love-hate and love-sick relationships, is the debut feature of directing duo Ana Baldini and Roly Witherow.

Brief Synopsis: "Sofia and Amandine, friends from London, travel to Sofia’s native Portugal for a weekend trip in Lisbon. Sofia, earnest and naive, is perennially in the shadow of the narcissistic Amandine and their unhealthy friendship is put to the test when Amandine runs into a Portuguese artist, Guilherme, at a party. The chance encounter causes Sofia and Amandine to go their separate ways: Amandine spends the weekend trying to wrap Guilherme around her little finger whilst obsessing over her ex- boyfriend Fabien; Sofia, finding herself on her own in Lisbon, embarks on a journey of self-discovery and, with the help of strangers she meets on her way, starts to free herself from the toxic relationships which she subconsciously falls into. After eventually reuniting at the end of their stay, Sofia summons the courage to unshackle herself from the abusive Amandine.”

Character Description: "Sofia" is earnest, naive and bookish. With an overbearing mother, she often finds herself (in)voluntarily attached to dazzling and controlling figures.

Some scenes contain nudity. The dialogue is mostly in English with some Portuguese. Rehearsals will be arranged between now and March around the cast's availability.

To apply you must:
- Speak good enough English in addition to Portuguese
- Live in the Lisbon area
- Be aged 20-30
- No acting experience is necessary

The selection process will involve 3 phases:
-Preliminary selection of applications
-Some candidates will be asked to submit a self-tape based on the script.
-Finally, selected candidates will be asked to do an in-person audition in Lisbon.
